Revolver grips

These ergonomic grips provide the best grip for average to large hands. With the slightly thicker top portion as well as the closed back strap area, these grips are pleasant to shoot with even under the toughest conditions. We recommend that smooth grips are chosen for calibers of .357 and higher so that the felt recoil is easier on the shooters hands. Grips with finger grooves fit every type of hand. For those who shoot short-barreled revolvers, we recommend grips with rounded back strap area so that the shooter has the optimal hand placement on the grip.

Replacement grips

with closed back for revolvers

  • symmetrical
  • with finger grooves
  • square butt grip
  • round butt grip
  • thumb rest for right-handed shooters
  • thumb rest for left-handed shooters

These grips are the foundation of all ergonomic grips later developed by Nill, and they have been steadily optimised over the years. The closed back strap makes them ideal for average to long hands and when shooting in the single action mode the distance to the trigger is improved. The positive-fit moulding follows the anatomy of the hand and the finger grooves increase the contact surface of the fingers. Thanks to the somewhat broader and rounded upper closure, even shooting heavier loads is a pleasure. We recommend a smooth grip for calibres of .357 magnum and over. It allows for a slight rolling of the firearm in the hand so that the recoil energy is better absorbed.

Replacement grips

with open back

  • symmetrical
  • with finger grooves
  • angular back
  • rounded back
  • compact form

With these ergonomic Nill grips the distance between the back of the  frame and the trigger is shorter. The trigger finger automatically extends further into the trigger, making a high, double action rate of fire possible. As opposed to closed back grips, these grips, with their reduced volume, are also well suited for shorter hands. The symmetrical form is perfect for left-, right- and two-handed shooting and can be used with speedloaders. Various finishes are available.

Each receives a special screw (double sided screw head with slot and rosette). Since there are many tolerance differences even in the same  model of revolvers, we recommend that you let us use your revolver for  an exact fitting.

Matchgrips for revolvers

  • orthopaedic from plastics moulding

The most important connection between the shooter and the firearm is the grip. Only when this connection is perfect the revolver can be evenly held, shot for shot, in the hand. With decades of practical experience in the workshop and training at the shooting range, Wilfried Nill and his employees have exactly the wherewithal to optimise the hand position of a firearm. The ergonomically formed grips meet the specifications of the International Olympic Association, the ISSF and other organisations.  Over the hand, the horn (beavertail) runs toward the wrist and fixes the hand from above. Therefore these grips should not be used with  magnum loads (no warranty for calibres over .38 special).
